The Village of Itasca (pop: 9,261) seeks a motivated, detail oriented, professional team player to fill the position of Full-Time Community Development Intern. This is a temporary position expected to last minimally through the summer. Emphasis will be on Community Development project work.
Essential Duties:
Reporting to the Community Development Director, the position is expected to assist with the administration of the department and provide support for ongoing activities.
Duties include performing research, analysis, participation in project meetings, minute-taking, and help with the preparation of presentations.
Provide zoning review support for residential and commercial projects.Â
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Hours and Compensation:Â
Work hours will be flexible within the traditional 8:30 am to 4:30 pm workdays.Â
Pay $18+/- hour, depending on qualifications.Â
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must be working toward a degree in Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or related fields.
Applicants should excel in working with the public, maintaining confidentiality, and possess strong computer skills including confidence with Microsoft Office programs. The successful candidate will be able to work safely and independently, follow all Village standards, keep work and time organized, and have excellent follow-through and communication skills.Â
The successful candidate will be expected to pass a drug/alcohol screening, physical and background check upon offer of employment.Â
