Did you know that in 2016 there were six planning ethics inquiries in Illinois, but our neighbors in Iowa and Missouri reported none? The 35 who attended the Planning Ethics panel hosted at CMAP on Dec. 8 learned this fun fact along with a variety of others.

The session titled “Planning, Lawyers, Guns, and Money: How to Stay Out of Ethical Jams” was led by a professionally diverse panel featuring AICP’s Ethics Officer, Jim Peters, FAICP, Michael Blue, FAICP, from Teska Associates, and Greg Jones from Ancel Glink. Attendees learned how to balance ethical obligations from a variety of sources including the AICP Code and Illinois law, and discussed various scenarios. Following the panel, the group celebrated the wrap of a great 2017 APA-CMS calendar with drinks at The Berghoff.
