Plan Commissioner Training in Homer Glen 6/19/25
Citizen planner training was held on June 19, 2025 for the Village of Homer Glen. Plan Commission members and Village staff attended the session. Lively discussion took place on topics such as findings of fact, commissioner responsibilities during public hearings, and forming recommendations to approve or deny a project. Trainers Jason Berry, AICP, with the Village of Lemont, and Tom Farace, AICP, with the Village of Carol Stream, presented the session.

Save the Date! September 26th Plan Commissioner Training at the 2024 State Conference. Open to all!
The 2024 APA-IL State Conference will be held September 25-27, 2024 in Champaign, IL. The all-day plan commissioner training that APA-IL traditionally holds at the conference will take place on September 26th at the City of Champaign's City Hall, located in beautiful downtown Champaign. The registration fee is just $75!
What's so special about this all day training? Unlike our evening training, there will be a variety of communities in attendance and there will be a networking lunch. Come learn from your peers and other communities.

The morning agenda consists of the content used during our evening Plan Commissioner Trainings in communities.

A networking lunch is included where attendees have a chance to talk amongst themselves about the trials and tribulations of being a commissioner or board member.
- In the afternoon, you'll be able to attend conference sessions and learn alongside the planners you work with.
