The 2008 Illinois State
Section Spring Conference is coming up quickly. This year’s conference
will be held Thursday, March 27 – Friday, March 28 at the
Hilton in downtown Springfield. The day-and-a-half conference will
feature a range of topics including presentations on the impacts of
the Lincoln Museum to downtown Springfield, the roles of different
generations in the planning profession and other great topics. The
conference will host a great lunch on Friday and a reception on
Thursday night in downtown. In the past the Section offered up to four
short conference/meetings. Last year members indicated they would
rather have a larger conference once a year. Last year’s conference in
Rock Island was a huge success and we look forward to building on that
success this year in Springfield. Details on the conference are
forthcoming but please mark you calendar for those days. Registration
will be affordable at $60. Plus, APA members that travel more that 75
miles and stay overnight will receive a $50 reimbursement. Students
who attend will receive a full reimbursement. Hotel rates will be
around $110. This is a very affordable way for you to come out to a
great conference and see Springfield. Plan on joining us! |
