In our continuing series of articles on 2006 ILAPA award winners, the
Village of Libertyville offers a glimpse into their Comprehensive Plan
that won a silver award in a Plan Category. In another article, The
Village of Bartlett talks about the development of their successful
business park. Finally, the Small Town and Rural Planning Division who
they and and what their mission is.
In February, AICP revised its Certification Maintenance taking into
consideration all the comments they received. Once again, everyone is
being asked to review
this revised proposal and provide comments. Please read Karen's

Madison, WI got just what it asked for, a successful, redeveloped
downtown. Now that big city problems on on the rise, the City is
looking for ways to tone down their success.

Freeways' tainted air harms children's lungs, experts say
The 13-year study of more than 3,600 children in 12 Central and
Southern California communities found that the damage from living
within 500 yards of a freeway is about the same as living in
communities with the highest pollution levels. When planning new
schools and new housing developments this should be taken into
