IL 53/120: Multi-jurisdictional Planning in a Polarized Environment

This session will explore the coordinated planning approach being undertaken

in Lake County, where 18 municipalities, several agencies and other

stakeholders are working together to chart a new course for balanced

development that protects the assets and values of residents while optimizing

economic development opportunities that accompany major infrastructure

investments. The opportunities and challenges of intergovernmental

coordination and planning will be explored, providing lessons learned for

communities considering multi-jurisdictional planning related to transportation
