Transportation Planner, Village of Hoffman Estates, IL

The Village of Hoffman Estates is seeking a motivated, detail oriented individual to perform a variety of routine and complex assignments within the Planning and Transportation Division. Duties include managing the Village’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan, coordinating transit related efforts, performing technical plan reviews, assisting with transportation-related administration, and attending various internal and external meetings regarding transportation planning and transit related issues. The Transportation Planner responds to and interacts with residents, developers, engineers, architects, employees, and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two – four years previous planning, transportation planning or transportation engineering experience and should be adept at working both independently and in a team environment with other professional staff members. Applicants should possess excellent writing, computer, and presentation skills. 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. with periodic evening meetings. Starting annual salary of $70,158 Full benefits, including IMRF pension
