Sr. Economic Development Coordinator, City of Bloomington, IL
The City of Bloomington is seeking a Sr. Economic Development Coordinator in the Economic & Community Development department. This position develops and establishes economic development programs and practices that lead to private sector projects in the City of Bloomington, resulting in capital investment, job creation, expanded tax base, creative and niche development, recreation and entertainment venues and other quality developments. The Senior Economic Development Coordinator reports to the Economic & Community Development Director. This position works cooperatively with the Economic Development Council for the Bloomington Normal Area (EDC), and coordinates efforts between diverse individuals and groups including elected officials, City staff, the business community, brokers, organizations dedicated to local economic development, citizens and citizen groups, utilities and other governmental bodies to facilitate economic development in the City of Bloomington. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies utilizing a wide variety of media and appropriate methods.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with coursework in Economic Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field. At least 4 years of progressively responsible, related experience. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
