Planner I - GIS Planning Analyst, United City of Yorkville, IL

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an exciting Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) “smart code” and the implementation of an award-winning Comprehensive Plan that will guide our city's growth and development for years to come.


Responsibilities:

The position of the GIS Planning Analyst will enhance the United City of Yorkville’s long-range planning goals in the areas of data visualization, development intelligence/forecasting and digital mapping. By analyzing data and producing and presenting captivating visualizations, the Planner I - GIS/Planning Analyst will help residents better understand development and land use proposals and further support elected officials, appointed board/commission members and City staff in making informed decisions. This position is under the supervision of the Community Development Director and will work closely with the Land Use and Zoning Planner.


Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or GIS/Geography; minimum of one (1) year of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Proficiency with the ESRI software suite (version 10 and newer), including ArcGIS Online, Business Analyst and ArcView is required.

  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Urban is a plus.

  • Experience and education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with this position and its essential job functions may be considered.

Salary & Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 plus full benefits (health, dental, vision, IMRF retirement) based on qualifications and experience.
