The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking applications for the position of Planner I. The Planner I will join a fast-paced department of planners and will have the opportunity to work on exciting and interesting development projects to ensure the health, safety, and economic well-being of residents of the Village of Arlington Heights.
With the goal of building a community of lasting value, the Planner I will assist with comprehensive planning, zoning and permit reviews, site inspections, special studies, code amendments, and economic development initiatives. The Planner I will assist with petitions and applications at Commission meetings and should possess strong site planning skills. In addition, the Planner I will assist with grant applications and development proposals. The Planner I will prepare graphic materials for reports and presentations. Experience with GIS software, AutoCAD, and graphic design is required.
The minimum starting salary for this position is $83,501 and includes a diverse and competitive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan. The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or a related field, and three years of experience. This position is open until filled.
