Plan Commissioner training was held in the Village of Woodridge on June 19, 2023. Plan Commissioners and Village staff attended the session, and commissioners appreciated the training session as they begin to review a comprehensive update to their zoning code. An in-depth discussion was held on reviewing variation and special use requests, interactions with the public, and commissioner responsibilities during public hearings. The training session was presented by Valerie Berstene, AIA, AICP, LEED AP, with MKSK Studios, and Tom Farace, AICP, with the Village of Carol Stream.

Plan Commissioner Training available at the 2023 APA-IL State Conference!
We're excited to be back in Naperville, IL September 11-13, 2023 for our 2023 State Conference. The Conference is also an opportunity for plan commissioners to attend an all-day training. This year's all-day Plan Commissioner Training will be held on September 13th. This training is great for commissioners that have and have not been through our evening training. The training is split into a morning of general information, a networking lunch with fellow commissioners and trainers, an afternoon session to put your knowledge to the test, followed by an optional end-of-the-day social.
Plan Commissioners pay just $75 for the day or $200 for all 3 days of the conference.
