On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the City of Batavia received Plan Commission Training from the Chaddick Institute and APA-IL. Commissioners ranged from life-long Batavians, to those who had arrived in town 18 months ago and immediately got involved in their new community.
A lively discussion was had on topics including effective meeting management, affordable housing, best practices for good relationships with elected officials, and who has the best tacos in town (Taqueria El Sazon was the unanimous favorite). The training was delivered by Phil Green, AICP of the Village of Hoffman Estates, and Mike Schwarz, AICP, of the Village of Frankfort.
