On October 25, 2023, APA-IL conducted a Plan Commissioner Training session in the City of Collinsville. Nearly 20 attendees from municipalities large (Alton, O’Fallon) and small (Brooklyn, Hartford) and across a variety of local government types including Townships, School Districts, and Parks Districts. In addition to planning and zoning members, we also had public works directors, economic development directors, an alderman, and a Mayor.
This was Joe Iliff, AICP's first training session and he did a great job of presenting the material in an efficient and thorough manner that attendees could relate to. This session included a roundtable discussion and we were honored to have planning and zoning chairs from Edwardsville (Matt Boline) and O’Fallon IL (Larry Sewell), who lent a new perspective to the proceedings.
