On October 5, 2023, APA-IL conducted a Plan Commissioner Training session in the City of Effingham. Nearly 30 Commissioners and Officials from the central Illinois communities of Effingham, Teutopolis, and Dieterich joined in the conversation and training.
Attendees and presenters had a lively discussion about the roles and responsibilities of various parties involved in the land use planning process. In particular, attendees asked great questions about the acceptable forms of public comment for hearings and the importance of separating facts from public emotions and opinions.
