Attend the Annual APA-CMS Bar Exam planning law session, a realistic simulated law school experience for planners (in a bar). Then, immediately following the "Bar Exam", attendees will have a chance to meet & greet while enjoying some complimentary appetizers.

BAR EXAM (3:30 pm - 5:00 pm)

The APA-IL Chicago Metro Section is partnering once again with Ancel Glink to bring you the annual Bar Exam. The planning law session is a realistic, simulated law school experience for planners and land use professionals (in a bar). Join Ancel Glink's Quorum Forum podcast, as you are tested on some of the most important planning law cases of the year.

NETWORKING (5:00 pm - 6:30 pm)

Immediately following the Bar Exam session, stick around for the Annual Networking & Mentorship event. Seasoned professionals and planning students will participate in a meet-and-greet exercise with plenty of time for general networking. The event will be a great opportunity to reacquaint with familiar faces while sharing insights and advice about planning practice in the real world. The Networking Event is FREE and includes complimentary appetizers, pizza, salad, and snacks (vegan options included)!

SPEAKERS

Megan Mack is an attorney at Ancel Glink where she represents a variety of governmental bodies in municipal law, zoning and land use, economic development, code enforcement and litigation matters. Megan works closely with communities in drafting redevelopment agreements and incentives to promote economic development. Megan also works closely with several municipal planning and zoning commissions and participates in plan commissioner trainings. Prior to joining Ancel Glink, Megan was an Assistant State’s Attorney in Lake County where she gained valuable trial experience. Megan is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law. Prior to law school Megan served as a transportation planner in various roles with Northwest Municipal Conference, West Central Municipal Conference and the organization formerly known as Chicago Area Transportation Study. Megan resides in Kildeer with her family of 4 children.


Daniel J. Bolin is a partner at Ancel Glink representing public entities and property owners in wide-ranging local government, land use, and election matters. Dan has counseled local governments at Ancel Glink for 15 years, regularly advising governmental clients at public meetings and offering advice on current issues from cannabis businesses to electric vehicle infrastructure. Dan’s creative strategies for the repair and demolition of blighted and abandoned properties helped his client earn a Lake County Municipal League Innovation Award. Dan writes about controversial land uses and speaks at state and national conferences regarding emerging local government topics. Dan often discusses legal issues affecting local governments as host of Ancel Glink’s Quorum Forum podcast and as co-host of ELGL's GovLove podcast.
