The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it are creating deep economic challenges for communities across northeastern Illinois. Recovery will require smart investments to support jobs at local businesses and in industries that export beyond our borders. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) provides flexible grant funding—administered by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA)—to help communities respond to and recover from the pandemic. EDA is accepting applications on a rolling basis to support a wide variety of assistance including:
Economic planning and technical assistance
Capitalization of revolving loan funds
Construction of infrastructure and other capital projects
On Thursday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m., join Dennis Foldenauer, Area Director for the EDA, and Jonathan McGee, Deputy Director of Regional Economic Development for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Register for the webinar to learn about the eligibility requirements, funding priorities, and how to apply for this recovery assistance.
