The 2024 APA-IL State Conference will once again offer a range of session formats. This means attendees can have more options for learning and a chance to try something new. We encourage you to think creatively and step outside the norm, whether that means an interactive workshop, a thought-provoking roundtable discussion, or a session that amplifies underrepresented voices. Imagine a session or mobile workshop you would love to attend and make it happen!
Is your community working on a Unified Development Ordinance?
Have you found ways to improve your Commissions and Boards?
Are you working on a corridor or subarea plan?
Have you found innovative ways to address missing middle housing or unique economic development challenges?
How about public engagement? GIS? Transportation?
Heck, maybe you know about a unique historical preservation project that is a MUST-see for planners in central Illinois.
This is a conference by planners for planners. We can all watch Ted Talks and listen to podcasts, but the best source for learning we have is each other.

Are you interested in submitting a session? Here are a couple of things to know for 2024:
APA-IL is again working with the event consultant, CGi, to run the Call for Sessions this year.
This year's submission form is similar to 2023 but note that we will not be pairing speakers for sessions.
Session rooms will be traditional ballrooms of various sizes.
We will not be extending the submission deadline.

The deadline to propose a 2024 session is February 14, 2024. Email notifications of selected sessions will be issued to session organizers in April.
