APA-CMS October Program - How Geodesign Can Be a Game Changer

Updated: Jan 2, 2020

Approximately 40 people attended the October 26th APA-CMS Geodesign program, at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’s offices. Attendees learned how the latest GIS applications can enhance the planning process from the analyses through recommended actions.

Speakers Devin Lavigne and Nik Davis examined recent game-changing Esri applications such as ArcGIS Pro, Insights, Drone2Map, SketchUp, CityEngine, VR/AR and more. Devin and Nik identified how these tools can help planners better analyze data, evaluate multiple planning scenarios, and communicate plan recommendations through 3D visualization, real-time reporting, and online publishing. Current case studies showcased how Geodesign is allowing planners to develop more insightful and meaningful plans showcasing projects from Chicago-region and throughout the country.

Thank you to our speakers, Principal Devin Lavigne and Principal Nik Davis from Houseal Lavigne Associates!
