John Norquist

Introducing our Keynote Speaker:

We are pleased to welcome John Norquist to #APAIL17! John Norquist’s work promoting walkable urban development as an alternative and antidote to sprawl’s social and environmental impacts draws on his experience as Mayor of Milwaukee (1988-2004) and his service as President and CEO of the Congress for the New Urbanism (2004 to 2014). Join us for #APAIL17 to share your perspective on the value of walkable urban development—and lessons learned in your community!

U-Pick Networking Lunches are Back!

Expand your network, learn something new, and enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many dining options in downtown Naperville. Similar to last year, #APAIL17 will offer u-pick lunch options at a number of restaurants in downtown Naperville. We're working with our local partners to make reservations at nearby establishments where you can meet-up for casual, roundtable, networking lunch discussions (each person will be responsible for their own lunch tab).

Plan Commissioner Training!

New and seasoned plan commissioners are invited to an all-day training session on September 14th. We'll provide a chance for plan commissioners to step back from the task of plan review and approval, learn what’s new in planning, and discuss their role with fellow commissioners. All planning officials, boards, and commissions are welcome. Click here for more information and to register!

“I was pleased to hear many of my Commissioners were happy with the session and many of the veterans said they learned something new." -- a village zoning administrator
