Just weeks away from our Advancing a Healthy Community Workshop

The APA-IL is working to integrate health into planning for the built environment. We're offering a Chicago area workshop to advance this work at the community level by identifying barriers, connecting potential partners, and providing technical assistance.

Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP)

233 South Wacker Drive, 8th Floor Thursday, July 27th, 1:00-5:00

After the workshop, network with your peers! Join the APA-CMS for their TODrinks event at Greek Kitchen! TODrinks is for urban planning professionals interested in participating in casual "happy hour" networking events to discuss the latest in planning. No agendas, no speeches, just drinks and talking shop with your fellow planners. To RSVP:

Workshop cost: $15

To encourage partnerships and collaboration, bring one partner from another department or organization in your community for FREE! (you must register together). Fee waivers will be considered for public agencies and non-profit organizations on a case-by-case basis.

Who should attend?

Anyone working on community-based strategies for improving health (including physical activity and active transportation, open space initiatives, food access and healthy food, zoning and land use). The workshop is designed for planners, architects, engineers, public health practitioners, health care providers, elected officials, community organization representatives, and advocates who are ready to start or advance this work in their community.

Participants can expect to leave with a "next steps" plan of action tailored to your community or project’s specific needs.

CM Credits are available per workshop!
