APA-CMS Draws a Sold Out Crowd on March 16th
"We talk about collaboration, and we’re doing it.” A great encapsulation of the successful Design that Draws event that APA-CMS co-organized with the Chaddick Institute, Municipal Design Review Network (MDRN), CNU Illinois, and AIA Chicago. Held on March 16th at the DePaul University Loop Campus, an audience of 60+ planners, designers, architects, engineers, and other allied professionals packed the room to take part in a panel discussion. The three panelists provided diverse perspectives on the role of design in creating distinct places that attract young families, professionals, and millennials. Chaddick's John Hedrick began the morning and was followed by Emi Adachi from Heitman, LLC who provided a real estate perspective. Eileen Franz, AICP, from the City of Elmhurst and Ferhat Zerin, AICP, from Ginkgo Planning + Design presented projects and viewpoints from the public and private sectors, respectively. Laurie Marston, FAICP, then moderated a lively Q&A session with the three panelists to hear stories and inquiries from attendees.
