APA-CMS Members engage in head-to-head law competition

What do an alligator, roller coasters, and Whitney Houston all have in common? They all played prominent roles in the annual APA-CMS Planning Law Session, which was led by the creative attorneys at Ancel Glink.

Held on February 23rd at Jak's Tap next to UIC, this year's law session was aptly titled "Bar Exam II: The Sequel," and was chock full of trivia, anecdotes, and lessons regarding recent planning law and cases. Played in game show fashion, Ancel Glink attorneys David Silverman, AICP, Daniel Bolin, AICP, and Christy Michaelson led participants in a head-to-head competition between the fictional law school houses of Burnhamdor and Olmsteady to match wits and even try their hand at a familiar game known as "spherical objects and plastic cups" to learn about sign codes. Attendees also took home knowledge of planning law topics relating to Complete Streets, school zoning, telecommunications, and lighting ordinances.

Special thanks to David, Dan, and Christy for serving as the law "professors" for the event (they really were nice in real life). Also, thanks to Jak's Tap for hosting and providing refreshments for yet another fun-filled APA-CMS law session.
