APA Offers Reduced AICP Exam Fee Scholarships for 2017
The APA AICP Exam Fee Scholarship program was established to offer assistance to individuals who may defer taking or are unable to take the AICP exam because of the cost. Scholarship recipients pay reduced fees to AICP as follows:
First time AICP applicants: $145 (combined $70 application and $75 exam fee, if approved)
Previously approved AICP applicants: $75 (exam fee only)
Please note that the awarding of a scholarship does not guarantee that a recipient will be approved to take the AICP Exam. For details on applying for the AICP Exam, please visit the American Planning Association's website.
To apply for this scholarship please send an email to Trevor Dick, AICP, the APA-IL Professional Development Officer at pdo@ilapa.org explaining how you meet the following guidelines by February 14, 2017:
An explanation of financial hardship (including financial hardship caused by a budget cutback in a firm or agency), which necessitates the request.
How you will be otherwise unlikely to take the exam without the reduced fee.
If the applicant’s employer will not subsidize the exam fee.
You must include your APA ID number to verify that you are a member of the Illinois Chapter of the APA.
If you are a member of a minority.
If a scholarship applicant has already paid the $425 exam fee, the APA will refund the value of the scholarship. Refunds generally take up to five weeks to process.
**Please note that the awarding of a scholarship does not guarantee that a recipient will be approved to take the AICP Exam.
