Emmy award-winning writer, producer and program host Geoffrey Baer is known for his masterful storytelling and infectious enthusiasm. A fixture on Chicago’s PBS station WTTW for more than 20 years, Baer’s popular feature-length “television tours” of Chicago, explore both the city and suburbs – from the Lakefront to the Loop, Chicago River, neighborhoods by “L” train and boulevards by bike. He also ate his way through the city in ‘The Foods of Chicago: A Delicious History’ that was nominated for a prestigious James Beard Award. Have a question about Chicago's past? Geoffrey has answers. He appears weekly on WTTW's flagship nightly news program Chicago Tonight, answering viewers' questions about Chicago architecture and history in a segment called ‘Ask Geoffrey’. In addition to his multiple Emmy awards, Geoffrey has been honored by the Society of Architectural Historians, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the Chicago Headline Club. Geoffrey has also been a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation since 1987. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity and exceptional keynote!
