The APA-IL is growing and so is our staff...
The APA-IL Chapter continues to grow and evolve particularly in the programming we offer and our annual state conference. In an effort to support this growth, the Executive Committee is changing the staffing structure of the Chapter. As part of our strategic planning process, the Executive Committee has decided to contract with Northern Illinois University’s Center for Governmental Studies (CGS). CGS will expand the support provided to the chapter by providing a team of professionals to meet our administrative needs. CGS provides similar services for peer organizations such as the Illinois City/County Management Association, the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association, and the Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International. The CGS team will be led by Dawn Peters, Executive Director for APA-IL beginning July 1. We want to extend a sincere thanks to John Paige, AICP, Chapter Administrator, for his tireless efforts on behalf of the Chapter for more than a decade. John will stay on board as Chapter Administrator through the end of the state conference to ensure a smooth transition. We’re pleased to announce that John will stay involved as co-chair for the Pro Bono Committee. We look forward to the many ways this new staffing structure will improve our programming and service to members.
