2016 ISS Spring Conference - Preliminary Program Announced


The 2016 Illinois State Section Spring Conference will be held in Champaign-Urbana this April 21-22, 2016 at the Hyatt Place – Downtown Champaign.

Champaign-Urbana is constantly improving. Those who have not visited recently may not recognize the place! Get the inside story on these projects from the folks that brought them to life. The conference includes four mobile workshops, which will showcase two revitalized downtowns, the University of Illinois campus and more. Traditional sessions will include CM credits for ethics and highlight award winning local economic development programs. Registration for the ISS Conference and the Planners Legislative Action Day (PLAD) will open in early March.

**Planners Legislative Action Day:

On April 20, 2016, the American Planning Association - Illinois Chapter will be convening in Springfield for a day of democratic engagement and participation in the State’s legislative process. Our day will start with a breakfast and presentation on the importance of legislative awareness and advocacy. There will then be a discussion of the legislative items we want to address. We will then walk over to the Capitol take a group picture and meet with our representatives and senators, as well as other important legislative leaders. The day will end with a cocktail reception for our members.
