Looking for an opportunity to get involved in the Champaign-Urbana community? Well, you’re in luck!
The APA-IL is working with local Habitat for Humanity chapters to help provide volunteer opportunities for members across the state of Illinois this fall. Please APA-IL Region 3 for a Planners Day of Service!
WHAT: Assist Habitat for Humanity with a project in Champaign-Urbana! Planners will work with Habitat for Humanity staff to install siding on a new single-family house in Champaign.
DATE: Saturday, November 18, 2023
TIME: 8am - 3pm
Habitat for Humanity will provide snacks, water, and lunch, as well as gloves and tools for volunteers. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes!
IMPORTANT: In the event of a project delay or inclement weather, please plan for an indoor Day of Service event at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore facility at 1914 Glenn Park Dr. in Champaign. Still on November 18, from 10am to 2pm. We will send out a confirmation email the week before the event.
Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County works to build decent, affordable houses and sell them to families at a zero percent interest rate. Families are selected based on their level of need, willingness to partner with Habitat, and ability to repay a mortgage. Habitat for Humanity provides home maintenance, budgeting and financial education classes free of charge to anyone in the Champaign-Urbana community.
