As is the APA-IL Illinois State Section Region 5's (St. Louis Metro area) annual tradition, we are again holding our Citizen Planners training event this year! Please mark your calendars and let your commissioners, boards, staff, aldermen and city council members know about this event, which will be in-person for the first time since October 2019!

7:00 pm – Roundtable discussion – “So You Thought It Would be a 10 Minute Meeting … But the Hearing Room is Full!”

  • 3 Experienced P&Z Chairs from the Metro East will participate in a lively Q&A discussion on their recommended best practices on:

  • Running an effective meeting

  • Establishing Rules of Order

  • Being Fair and Open-Minded

  • Navigating Controversy and Setting Ground Rules on Appropriate Behavior

  • When to Abstain

  • APA Ethical Principles in Planning
