Your input needed: Community Geothermal Planning + Pilots

The Illinois Finance Authority, in its role as Illinois’ Climate Bank, has released a Request for Information (RFI) seeking public input to inform the design of a new program under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) to support community-scale geothermal projects across Illinois. Up to $15 million in CPRG funding will be available over four years, with a goal of serving 1,100 households statewide by 2030.

Stakeholders are encouraged to review the preliminary program framework and provide feedback on the proposed two-phase funding approach, project scope and scale, geographic priorities, community engagement, workforce and contractor development, consumer protections, bill savings, and other design considerations.

This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal.
