The U.S. Department of Transportation Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS-JPO) will host a webinar from 1-2:30 p.m. ET Thursday, November 7, 2019 to discuss the availability, capabilities and limitations of automated transit bus technology. The Transit Bus Automation Market Assessment webinar will inform transit agencies and other transit industry stakeholders interested in the current transit bus automation market and potential procurements related to automated transit bus technologies.
The webinar will feature presentations from Steve Mortensen, Senior ITS Engineer at FTA; Joshua Cregger, Technology Policy Analyst for the U.S. DOT Volpe Center; Gregg Walker, Senior Manager for AECOM’s Transportation Practice; and Jean Ruestman, Administrator of the Office of Passenger Transportation for the Michigan DOT.
The information session supports the research and outreach efforts highlighted in FTA’s Strategic Transit Automation Research (STAR) Plan, which outlines FTA’s five-year research agenda to support the development and deployment of automated bus transit services.
