From parades to permanent art installations, this session will explore how urban infrastructure can serve as the canvas for public art that ranges from moments of simple joy, to energizing a community, welcoming outsiders, and create a lasting investment. Join us at 3pm for a discussion with Kalindi Parikh, director of planning, Chicago Loop Alliance; Erin Harkey, Deputy Commissioner, Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events; and Paola Aguirre Serrano, Assoc. AIA, founder of Borderless, a Chicago-based urban design studio. At 4:30pm, we will move from the office to a tour along the Chicago Riverwalk.
