UIC's Summer Institute on Sustainability and Energy

This August, Marcella Bondie Keenan, APA IL Diversity Committee Chair, and Katanya Raby, Diversity Committee member, will be project mentors and judges for UIC’s Summer Institute on Sustainability and Energy SISE is a two-week fellowship for students and practitioners to intensively study sustainability and advances in energy. The August 2018  program, (re)new, is working with CMAP, the North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council, and the neighborhood of North Lawndale to create plans to retrofit and preserve historic greystone housing, introduce renewable energy, and repurpose vacant lots as community gardens.
