Community Planner, Transportation Planning, Mead & Hunt, Inc., Madison, Milwaukee, or Green Bay, WI

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a planner to work with our transportation department. This position could be located in our Madison, Green Bay or Milwaukee office. Responsibilities include leading community planning and zoning projects, zoning codes, development review, and long-range plans; landscape and urban design, corridor studies; NEPA documentation; data collection and analysis; graphics development; document writing; preparing for, attending, and presenting at client meetings. Occasional travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or related field AND at least four years of relevant planning experience.

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Master’s degree in urban planning, or landscape architecture

  • Previous project or work experience in municipal planning or urban design

  • Experience writing long-range studies including comprehensive plans, park plans, or related

  • Experience with zoning code updates and development review, including land divisions, zoning reviews, and conditional uses

  • Demonstrated proficiency in ESRI, Adobe Creative Suite, or other 3D design programs

  • Experience facilitating or presenting at public meetings

  • Experience with urban or landscape design and physical planning

  • Experience with NEPA documentation
