New for 2022!

  • New category! Historic Exploration Award.

  • Optional letters of support from other agencies, stakeholders, etc. that might bring additional perspective to the nomination are allowed.

  • The Public Outreach category has been removed and will remain a criteria for all categories. Instances where public outreach is not part of a scope can be explained in the nomination.

  • The Advancing Diversity & Social Change Award, Daniel Burnham Award, and Strategic Plan Award have been updated to align with APA national criteria.

Our process makes it easy to submit your project for an APA 2022 national award (portal open June 20–July 8, 2022)! Please consider submitting and gaining national recognition for your project.

Nomination Fees:

  • Project Award Nomination - $50

  • Student Project Award Nomination - $0

  • Service Award Nomination - $0

FAQ - We've had a few questions asked and we would like to share them with you!

  • Are there restrictions on the number of student award nominations that can come from a single institution?  No. Institutions can have multiple submissions. The submissions must be for different projects (not the same projects in different categories).

  • Is faculty responsible for the nomination if it’s only one, or can it be someone else?
The nominator could be any APA-IL member. The form asks for the nominator's contact information and if the nominator is the contact for the project there is space to add the project's contact information. In the case of student projects, it could be a student or faculty member that makes the nomination as long as they are a member of the APA-IL.

  • Is the letter of support from a funding agency required if a student project did not receive funding for the work? Students should provide a letter of support from faculty member that supported their work.
