Section 2 of the AICP bylaws regarding certification maintenance. The
Commission will consider the comments after the 30-day public comment
period has ended. If the changes are approved, they will take effect
immediately. Please send your comments to

Be sure to save the date for the 2007 ILAPA State Conference, October
10-12, 2007. The conference will be held in Peoria, Illinois. Visit

On April 13, 2007, the AICP Commission approved a plan for
Certification Maintenance for all AICP members. This will require AICP
members to complete continuing education sessions & courses to
maintain certification. The program requires that AICP members earn 32
credits for each 2 year period. The first period will begin January 1,
2008 but any credits earned after April 13, 2007 will count for the
2008-09 period. Other restrictions and requirements apply. To find out
the newest information available on Certification Maintenance and how
to log your hours, visit:
http://www.planning.org/certification/maintenance.htm. Please keep
in mind that this is a new program, APA is still working out all the
details.
Certification Maintenance credits for the
2006 ILAPA Four-State Conference have been
posted. To add these credits, visit the
CPD website and the conference is under APA Chapters, Upper Midwest
Region 4-State Conference 2006. If you do not log these credits in the old CPD log system, please maintain a paper log of the courses you took. The online
logging system will be inaccessible from May 22, 2007, to around August
1, 2007.
