APA's High School Essay Contest |
|
|
APA announced its
first annual nationwide essay contest for
high school juniors and seniors. The theme is "Expanding Housing
Choice and Affordability through Planning". The first place winner
receives a $5,000 college scholarship and an invitation to attend
the national planning conference during his or her undergraduate years.
Ten honorable mention winners will receive gift certificates to
PlanningBooks.com. Essays must be submitted by Jan. 15th. |

Welcome to the November-December News
BLAST!...
This month's newsletter features the proceedings from the 2006 Upper
Midwest Four-State Conference. Be sure to check the
conference web site often
as photos and presentations are being added on an ongoing basis. A big
thank you to all the people who made our conference a great success!
Also in this newsletter is a feature article about environmental
justice issues in Little Village from our friends at Planner's
Network. Plus, an article on the 2006 ILAPA award winners.
Last month, we bid farewell to our dear Treasurer, April Getchius, who left the
flatlands of central Illinois for a place with a little more elevation.
April has moved on to Casper, Wyoming where she is the Community
Development Director. We wish her lots of luck! The ILAPA Board
appointed Michael Jacobs, from the Village of Palatine, as Treasurer.
