ILAPA News BLAST! November-December Edition Number 82
Illinois State Section Report by Rob Kowalski, AICP

A new Executive Board of the Illinois State Section will be ready to start work after the first of the year. In 2007 year the APA-ISS will focus on more Citizen Planner Training workshops and also strengthening the spring and fall section meetings. If you are interested in hosting a Citizen Planner Training workshop or section meeting in your community, please let one of the Board members know and we can talk more about it.

In other news, last month this ISS offered $100 incentive subsidies for downstate planners to attend the Upper Midwest Four State conference. The purpose of this offer was to help some of us with “downstate budgets” attend the conference which was slightly more expensive than the traditional state conference at Starved Rock State Park. Earlier in the year the ISS Board budgeted enough money to accommodate 30 subsidies and nearly 30 planners took advantage of this great opportunity. I invite you to get more involved in the ISS. Remember, if you are an APA member and live outside the Chicago Metro area, you are an ISS member. If you have any suggestions or comments about the State Section, please do not hesitate to let anyone on the Board know.
