Congratulations to Illinois Chapter
members
Lee Brown,
AICP and
Paul Farmer,
AICP, who were recently notified that
they are going to be inducted into the “AICP College of Fellows”. Both
are well deserving of this honor, which is conferred in recognition of
their “body of work” in the planning profession. Their achievements in
long and illustrious careers will be recognized on Saturday night,
April 22, 2006 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The ceremony will take place at The
Historic Menger Hotel, in downtown San Antonio, and followed by a
reception. If you are interested in celebrating this honor with Lee
and Paul, you may
register for the Fellows Dinner in conjunction with
your Conference registration.
For those of you attending the National APA Conference in San Antonio,
the
Illinois Reception is scheduled for Monday, April 24, 2006, from
6:30-8:00 p.m. The Reception is in conjunction with the University of
Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, University of Illinois at Chicago, and
ILAPA. Please check the final program for the details.
As mentioned in the last ILAPA News Blast!, the State Conference this
year will be combined with the Annual Four State Conference (shared
with the Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin Chapters) this fall. Plans are
in the initial stages, and you should circle October 4-6, 2006, on
your calendars. The Conference will be in the Chicago area and we hope
to have a venue in the western or northwestern suburbs. For those of
you going through the annual budgeting process, do not forget to set
aside funds to attend this Conference. There will be plenty of
opportunities for Chapter members to get involved in the Four State
Conference, whether it is through Conference sessions, mobile
workshops, or general organization and logistics. We will need your
help to make this a memorable Conference.
